Of Birthday, KTV and Fun

Last 2 weeks was great, still on holiday mood so was playing around and all about having fun until this week when the presentation struck me. But it's over now and I feel so relieved right now. But that doesn't mean the end of the assignment, in fact, it's the beginning of the workload! It's already the 5th week since I came back and I'm still very much not on the study mood which is really bad for me right now as I have lotsa tests and assignments coming up after the Easter holiday. And what make it worse is that I'm pretty much on the dreaming stage when the lecture is going out and I've been skipping a few of it... tsk tsk tsk!! I should stop skipping my law class!

Anyway, it was Joe's birthday last last Sunday and we went to this malaysian chinese restaurant in town to have a nice warm dinner and had a nice long chat with everyone. After dinner we proceeded to cold rock ice cream for second round. It was a great night out! When we reach home, we continue the fun playing Wii!

-all of us-

Then on thursday, we went to KTV night held by NUSA, the student association in the uni. It was not bad. They served bbq chicken but they have no veggies and so we ordered pizza instead and drinking my favourite not-so-alcoholic lemon bitter. Then we just spent the night chatting in the bar while listening to some people singing and most of them were out of tunes.

Friday, we wanted to go Newcastle show but when we reached there we couldn't find a parking space even though we drove around the place several times. So we left seeing that no parking space and it was all children. Then, we went for lunch, in a thai restaurant. I'm glad to announce that we have found the best thai food in town. We asked for original spicy and it was really spicy to the extent we had to ask them to switch on the aircon. The price were reasonable too and the food was great.

-looking all satisfied and happy-

After the food, went for grocery shopping and then we went swimming at night in the Forum. It has been like more than 10 years since I last swam. That was a really long time and I wasn't able to swim properly and had to stick beside the pool to move around. If someone were to push me down, I could totally drown because I do not know how to float! T___T how could I be that dumb even the small little kids can do it!! Just wait, I just bought the 10 sessions pass for swimming and I'll be able to swim like a pro in the end of the sessions!! Hopefully...

That's all for now.... Easter holiday is coming up and I can't wait for the holidays!!! =)

Cheers

Small Events

Finally I'm updating again, I know I've become very lazy lately and I know I'm not supposed to as the exams are approaching and I still have like 3 assignments and tonnes of study to be done. The worst thing is that I was addicted to Nintendo my friend borrowed me which is still with me now. Why on earth I can still be so relaxed while I have so many stuff yet to do?!??
Anyway, I have gone to a few events like the Merdeka Nite, Cultural Awakening and Soo Siang's birthday which was last month. That's what I can remember, apart from the recent ones, I think.... the oldest event that I went to was the Olympic Ceremony which I'm not gonna write anything about it anymore as it was like....... forever ago. When was the olympic again?? OOh Right... 080808. Okay maybe not that old.

~Olympic Opening~
We went to the Bar on the Hill (uni bar) on that day to watch the olympic as they have a huge plasma tv over there. The place was crowded and was full of chinese, mainly from China. It was fun, and we got the 2nd place in the trivia game! Well the priza was useless, we were given a discount voucher for international flights. As if I'll fly international from here, and their international flight exclude New Zealand. And for the closing ceremony, we just watch it in my small garage. Not bad, I like the opening better. And did I ever say that we watch the badminton finals in my room, via webcam live cast from my home?!! My mum set up for me as I was complaining the telly here not showing the finals!! It was great! hehe!!

-everyone in my room-

~Soo Siang's Birthday~
We made a small birthday party for her. Nothing to write more except I just had to say that I had HOKKIAN MEE!!! THANKS Joe and Cien, I know it's late but still THANKSSS!! Will ya make again???

-the birthday girl-

-Hokkian meeeeee *salivating*-

~Merdeka Night~
I paid $25 dollar to attend that event. It wasn't bad, but I don't like the food. It looks good on the outside but it doesn't taste good in the inside. Merdeka Night to me is like another Alumni night, you pay to dress up and take pictures, provided in a nice ambiance. Since it's Merdeka Night, thus it's all Malaysians, well most of it. Before that I didn't know there are a lot of Malaysians in the uni, now I know. But sadly I dunno any of them and I didn't make any effort to get to know them. I know I suck. Anyhoo It wasn't bad, I wouldn't say it was fun as I had to dress up and walked in heels in a chilly night. But great experiance! =D

-me and siang-

-all dressed up, but was too cold so we had our jacket on-

-Jun shoong and the ladies-

-my dinner for that night, forgot what barramundi with dunno-

-Siang's $25 dinner, steamed egg with mixed vege-

-us with the best dressed guy clad in Iban traditional clothing-

-Cynthia, Joe, Siang and me-

~Cultural Awakening~
Our uni has lotsa students from all over the world and thus they have a series of events going on all week long. Sadly I couldn't attend all of them and the saddest part is that I wasn't able to go to the last day of the event as they have some sort of international food stalls. I had to attend classes!! T_T sad right... But I am glad that I went to the Ramadhan break fast on the 2nd day of the fasting month. Students from Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and etc prepared the food and we get to enjoy it for free. It kinda reminds me of the International Night in INTI. It was raining that day so all of us had to stay indoor. Yep and so I get to eat some Malaysian food like roti jala, curry and ayam merah. The food were not enough and so I didn't get to eat the chicken!!! only the sauce... T_T and I had air bandung(rose syrup mixed with soy milk or condensed milk). Overall was fun, good food good company. I was half drenched that was as I walked home in rain, I have killed THREE, TIGA, SAN umbrella since I came here, the wind was just tooo strong! Oh wait, I think only my umbrellas broken, is it that I didn't take care enough if it?? I need a golf umbrella!!

-Joe, Hua, Siang and me-

That's pretty much about it. Can't wait for the holiday to come so I can go to Queenland soon!! One more week and I'm going for holiday!!! YAY!! Still have one assignment to be completed before holiday. And three weeks after holiday will be finals and after finals I will be going home and eat my char koay teow, laksa, hokkian mee etc....

My easter holiday part 1

This post is a bit overdue dee.. was busy with assignments and test. Okay la.. and a bit lazy.. that's why so late only post this up.
Anyway, I had the best easter ever 2 weeks ago!! And it's my 1st time celebrate easter. Sandra and I went to Sydney and stayed at her auntie's place. Her auntie cooked us great food and I was really enjoyed during my stay! Thanks auntie!!
So, during my stay in Sydney, we went to a lot of places and had a lotsa fun! I wish I could stay longer... anyway, the main reason we went was to go to this thing called Sydney Royal Easter Show! It was really great! We had a blast on that day! Sandra and I met up with Jun Lin, our HSC senior who is now currently studying in University of Wollongong. It was really great to meet up with someone you know when you're far away from home. We got the program list before we headed to Sydney Olympic Park( the place of the easter show was held), so we managed to arrange everything and make full use of our time to catch every show which we think it's interesting. We missed the mass line dancing tho', but we got to see sheep shearing! Enough said, let the pictures do the talking now as a pictures speaks thousand word.

-the 1st program, wood chopping, not bad, the participants were really strong!-

While waiting for the other program to start, we went around to the animal farms

-extreme corruption-

-the fireworks!! I love fireworks!-

That's pretty much for a day I spent in Sydney Royal Easter Show. I only post up like 10% of the pictures I have, too many photos to go up, I'll try to post up some other in my facebook and picasaweb when I have the time. I decided to split this blog post into 2 parts! So stay tuned for the Part 2 of my easter holiday!! which I'm gonna do now. hehe!!

P/S: If you wanna see more pictures of the animals, go to Sandra's blog! Click HERE! She has all the animals in her camera.. all the animals she thinks it's cute, it's all in her dinner plate... especially beef and pork!! she loves pigs and she eats pork! ooh.. it rhymes!~ hehe~ no offence dear~~ coz me eat pork too! and all the pigs are waaayyyy to huge to be cute!! Mardi Gras, Sydney Opera House, Darling Harbour and Fish Market

I spent my last weekend in Sydney. It was a great weekend!! We went touring in Sydney and it is so different from the place I'm staying currently... the scenery was great, the buildings are tall and nice but the things are expensive. My train fare to go there cost me a total of $36 to and fro!! I have to say there are a lot of Asians in Sydney. You get to see Chinese everywhere on the street!! Especially places near UNSW. Sandra and I stayed at her sister IH. So saved us the cost of accommodation!

-Pretending to be their student and proudly take photo in front of it!-

~ MARDI GRAS~

The main purpose of going down to Sydney was to see the Mardi Gras celebration held in Sydney, one of the major city in the world which is famous for their Mardi Gras celebration. The other word for Mardi Gras is the Gay and Lesbian parade or something.
For more info about Mardi Gras in Sydney, click here
To know what's the meaning of Mardi Gras, click here

I gotta say, attending the Mardi Gras celebration was a totally new experience for me!! Culture shock!! Something you'll never get to see in a million years back home!! People dressed up in fancy clothes, some scantily clad, and some nearly* naked. (*nearly as in 98% naked) And most of all.. most of them are... erm.... man.. range from young to old... and some SHEman. I was like OH MY GAAWWWWD!!! And the weather that day was actually freezing cold, I was shivering the whole way!! I can't believe how can they wear sooooo little cloth and still able to walk for the whole parade!! I think the temperature that night was only 13 celcius!! O.o
Anyway, I think I should shut up now and let the pictures continue my post.

- whoa!! before the parade-

- SHE is tall...-

-watashiwa Sakura desu-

-Mardi Gras Version of Victoria Secret Runway-

-Sandra... you are sooo lucky get to take picture with those beauties-

- hello people, nice to meet you-

-the picture says it all-

-ooh, naughty~~ bad girl~

-coffee, tea or fabulosity, anyone?-

-angel and devil-

Check this out!! News review on the Mardi Gras Parade. Phew.. it was hard to find something rated "U" for the Mardi Gras event.

~ SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE~

Before we head down to the parade, we went to the FAMOUS SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE!!! IT WAS SPECTACULAR!! And Harbour Bridge was awesome too!! I wanted to climb, but I was told that you need to pay.... too bad.. maybe next time.... I saw in the map that there is an underwater tunnel leads to the Opera House. Hmm... But I see nothing on the surface.. DUH...
Some of the pictures I took:

- street human art-

-Harbour Bridge-

-Sydney Opera House-

- me posing with the SOH behind-

- Sandra and I-

~DARLING HARBOUR~

We passed Darling Harbour on the way to Sydney Fish Market. So we took a few pics around there:

- Darling Harbour!-

-another view-

-dunno what big spinning thingy in Darling Harbour-

~SYDNEY FISH MARKET~

Ahhh~~ the famous Sydney Fish Market.. where you get to buy cheaper and fresh seafoods. I have to admit that it was really good, but also really pricey if you convert back to RM. I love the prawns!! So sweet and so fresh!! Whoever loves Salmon, this is your paradise!! It's cheap! We didn't order the fried ones coz' it was expensive, but we bought some on the way back coz' the price went down as it was near to the closing time. But not for the fresh one though... maybe because it was Sunday.. so they didn't pull down the price in the end of the day. Picture ar... sorry ar.. was busy eating.. totally forgot to take.. but I managed to take the picture fish cocktails I bought but not the cheese bake oysters when I'm going back.

-Sydney Fish Market-

~ WALKING ~

Jeez... I gotta tell ya how much I walked when I was in Sydney!! Before showing you the pics, I tell you!! I saved $17.20 coz I walked!!! Okay, here's the pics:

-see?? from Sydney Opera House to Oxford Street a.k.a Gay Street(that's what I was told)-

-From the Central Station to Fish Market-

My legs muscles still pain... haih...

Phew... that was pretty much of my last weekend spent in Sydney. This post is getting longer and longer dee!! So I guess I'll just stop here or else you'll get bored dee... hehe!! ciao~

p/s: more pictures are available in my facebook and my picasaweb!
